A Cozy Christmas Picnic

Katie Schur

This year, we tried a new Christmas tradition. We found an old sled that had been hiding away in storage. You know those Flexible Flyer sleds with the red runners? There was something about it that reminded me of several serving trays that I have at home. So I wondered, could this be an indoor picnic table?

Try using an old antique sled as an indoor picnic table!

I set up the sled in front of our Christmas tree on top of a cherry red blanket. Then, I took one of our wooden serving boards, and filled it with cheese, crackers, veggies, fruit and charcuterie. I added some plates, napkins, utensils and battery operated twinkly lights. I think it turned out pretty cool! Definitely a new way to admire our Christmas tree from a unique angle.

I think it's so easy to get caught in all of the holiday hustle and bustle. That's why I think it's so meaningful when you take the time to sit down and admire all of the beauty that this season has to offer. I hope you can find time to do so in the days ahead and can enjoy a holiday season that's full of love and memories to cherish. Merry Christmas!
